Lyon Carré de Soie: investment of EUR 100 million in June 2013 to build Silky, the future site of Alstom Transport in Villeurbanne

In May 2012, Alstom Transport and DCB International signed a long-term lease for the rental and construction of the future Alstom Transport site in Villeurbanne (Lyon Carré de Soie).

In June 2013, the property scheme, providing a total area of 36,600 m2, obtained funding from ANF Immobilier, the Caisse d'Epargne Rhône-Alpes and DCB International, taking the cumulative investment sum to EUR 100 million.

A lease agreement without precedent on the Lyon market

In June 2013, ANF Immobilier, the Caisse d'Epargne Rhône-Alpes and DCB International invested EUR 100 million - 65%, 30% and 5% respectively of the total investment - to build the future site of Alstom Transport in Lyon Carré de Soie.

With a usable area in excess of 36,000 m2 - including 29,000 m2 of office space - the "Silky" development is the largest lease agreement ever signed on the Lyon market!

At a horizon of 2015, the new real estate development "Silky" will house the electronic activities of Alstom Transport, the uncontested leader in rail transport in France. A new record for the "Silky": it was the largest office space operation for a single user in 2012 in France!

Alstom Transport Villeurbanne, a site experiencing a real boom

Specialising in the development, validation and fabrication of electronic systems equipping trains and railways, the Alstom Transport site in Villeurbanne at the multimodal pole of Lyon Carré de Soie, employs some 750 people.

The future site will allow a further improvement in the performance of Alstom Transport which is continuing to grow strongly, with recruitment now under way to fill 100 jobs.

"Silky", environnemental performance

The "Silky" developmentis organised around a central building of 5 sections, with:

Ancillary buildings for the company canteens and logistics complete the service offer.

A multiple record-holder, "Silky" will be the first site in France to enjoy the double certification HQE et BREEAM, in accordance with RT2012. These buildings have in particular the benefit of an outer shell which performs extremely well thermally for heat and cold production.

Quality landscaping has also been designed to meet the needs of an environnemental certification.

The works started in 2013 and will end with the handover of this future major development in summer 2015.
