Vaulx-en-Velin urban free zone
The Vaulx-en-Velin Urban Free Zone is part of the first generation of ZFU’s, created in 1996.
- It covers one third of the town’s total land area.
- It is based around the town centre, which is undergoing an extensive programme of urban renewal, and represents one aspect of the area’s city project.
The main features of the Vaux-en-Velin ZFU (2006)
- almost 1,250 businesses
- 6,000 jobs, or almost one third of all jobs in the community
- the number of businesses increased by 30% between 2000 and 2004, and increased by 9% between 2004 and 2006
- a high concentration of business services and construction companies.
