29 January 2013
Created following the decision of the Greater Lyon Community Council on 21st November 2011, the Girondins ZAC is made up of 17 hectares of land to the north of Lyon Gerland.
In September 2012 SERL and TVK / Base were respectively designated planners and chief architects for the project.
This mixed project aims to create a new urban centre. The Girondins ZAC will include:
- 2,500 homes
- 7,500 m2 of floor space for shops
- 60,000 m2 of floor space for the service sector in an area where the service sector will account for about 100,000 m2 of floor space.
The launch of the architectural competition for the privately developed areas will be in 2013.
The first planning permissions should be delivered at the start of 2014.
