8 June 2012

The second edition of the Innorobo show was held from 14th to 16th March 2012, in Lyon. This event brought together the international players in service robotics around a series of conferences and an exhibition area.

Innorobo 2012, an appointment with innovation

Innorobo 2012 provided a wonderful opportunity to discover around one hundred of some of the world's most innovative robots, as well as leading personalities in the sector, such as Prof. Yoshiyuki Sankai and Bruno Bonnell.

Once again this year, the show was a great success, as demonstrated by the enthusiasm of:

  • 12,000 visitors (an increase of 20% over 2011),
  • representing 32 different nationalities and
  • 150 journalists from 15 countries.

Greater Lyon, a receptive territory for robotics

Greater Lyon supports the Innorobo show and was present under the banner of ONLYLYON to ensure the promotion of Lyon, from both the economic and quality of living angles.

Greater Lyon also welcomed 12 foreign delegations, including one from Korea, a country on the cutting edge of robotics use. In turn, Korea open its doors to the President of Greater Lyon, who will visit the country during the year.

Demonstrating the dynamism and the territorial advantages in this area, local specialist companies also exhibited at the show and included Robopolis, POB Technology and Awabot.

Robotics has been identified as one of the growth engines of the twenty-first century. Keenly aware of this potential, Greater Lyon aims to position itself for the future as a receptive territory for service robotics because of its industrial skills and openness to innovation.
