The urban area provides special support to its centers of excellence by developing a policy of specific support for clean technology sectors, ITC (Information Technology and Communication) and Life Sciences.
Consolidating and developing
The Lyon urban area has built its economic development on industry, trade and banking. This reality is still evident today, as can be seen in the textile, chemical and mechanical engineering industries. A great number of industrial companies (500-1,000 employees) are also present, in sector such as logistics, agro-food, fine chemicals, services, electricity, energy, etc.
