A mission from Lyon led by the Vice-President responsible for Innovation and New Technologies and the Vice-President responsible for International Relations visited New York from 27 to 29 September 2013.
This New York mission was organised in the context of the Taste of France event, focussing on promoting France internationally.
This event is part of the strategic plan of the ONLYLYON operations aimed at the North American markets. The objective is to position Lyon as a must-see French destination for tourism, lifestyle and culture, but also for business and innovation.
On this occasion, various New York publics were approached:
- American tourists and the general public via the participation of the Lyon Tourist Office in the Taste of France show in Bryant Park (New York) on Saturday and Sunday, 28 and 29 September 2013.
- The press by the organisation of a lunch and also interviews with the specialist tourism and economy media.
- American investors by a seminar organised by ADERLY (Agence de Développement Economique de la Région de Lyon - Economic Development Agency for the Lyon Region) at Baker and McKenzie.
- Networks of decision-makers, at the official Taste of France reception on Saturday evening, bringing together 450 guests, from institutions (the government, Embassy, French organisations abroad, other towns, cities and regions present), the economy (private sponsors, investors invited by ADERLY, networks of New York entrepreneurs, etc.) and journalists.
By this collective outreach action, Lyon has been able to present the opportunities offered by our region, illustrated by the “Addicted to Lyon” campaign.
