Lyon hosted “Ho Chi Minh City Days” in Lyon on June 26 and 27, 2014
In the context of the France-Vietnam exchange program and to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and Vietnam, Lyon and the Rhône-Alpes region will host the Ho Chi Minh City Days on June 26 and 27, 2014.
Since 1990, Greater Lyon has been a partner of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, along with the Rhône-Alpes Region. These groups work together in the field of urban services, urban planning and the lighting of urban heritage sites.
The City of Lyon department of urban lighting has already participated several times in lighting sites included in the Ho Chi Minh City cultural heritage, including the city museum in 1996, city hall in 2004, the opera in 2008 and the central post office in 2013.
During Ho Chi Minh City Days, Lyon will be welcoming a delegation of seventy people led by the President of the People’s Committee.
This event will also highlight exchanges between two countries which are historically very close.
On the program for Ho Chi Minh City Days:
- For the general public, a show by thirty Vietnamese performers was staged at Palais de la Mutualité (on Thursday, June 26, (free of charge; entrance limited to the number of available seats).
- Open to professionals only, activities on June 27 focus on an economic seminar and a seminar on urban planning.
