Lyon - Turin (Italy) cooperation, key dates

Since 2009, Lyon and Turin have worked on cross-communication campaigns. Fête des lumières, Biennales d'art contemporain, Biennales de la danse, Jazz festivals, Christmas markets: the major cultural events are advertised on JC Decaux billboards in the municipal networks of the two cities.

In 2012, to reinforce this communication and to promote - in both cities - their respective destinations, a number of one-off events were held in the public space in the context of a partnership with the SNCF.

In March 2011, the Grand Parc de Miribel Jonage (Lyon) and the Po river park (Turin) signed a twinning charter as major peri-urban parks in their agglomerations. Exchanges of good practices, reflections on environmental education, cultural and artistic actions, and support for social and occupational integration are at the heart of the Franco-Italian collaboration between the teams from the two parks.

Since 2010, Lyon and Turin have been partners in European urban mobility projects. CITYLOG and OPTICITIES aim to achieve optimum efficiency of goods deliveries in the city. The partners are looking to smart transport systems (traffic prediction, smart phone and multi-modal satnav applications, GPS in vehicles) to reduce the number of delivery vehicles in the city centre and to improve travel conditions.
