The main objective of Urbanbees is the European diffusion of a management guide to maintain and increase the diversity and the abundance of wild bees in urban and peri-urban environments.
Lyon's involvement in the European project Urbanbees
The programme is taking place in the Rhône-Alpes region and in particular in Grand Lyon. Various urban and peri-urban sites are specifically developed to ease the feeding and nesting of wild bees (hotels and nesting boxes). Permanent monitoring of these sites allows the observation and study of the behaviour of these bee populations in order to refine knowledge and improve the management of the resources they need.
