Sustainable Food in Urban Communities is a project bringing together 10 European cities wishing to develop - or improve - a responsible food system. In seeking common solution both effective and sustainable, this programme aims to respond to environmental challenges in the production process while combatting against the social inequalities in terms of access to a balance and nutritious diet.
Lyon's involvement in the European project Sustainable Food in Urban Communities
The topic proposed by Lyon relates to sustainable food in urban zones via the development of low-carbon-emission food systems which are efficient in the use of resources. Attention is focussed on actions which favour responsible and sustainable consumption associated with food(local production, distribution…), in particular on projects with a social purpose concerning populations with few resources.
