CityLog's mission was to develop innovative technologies and systems to minimise the energy impact of the transportation of packages and goods in the city while improving its efficiency. This programme thus aimed to provide a solution for a sustainable delivery system in a dense urban environment, by ofveloping and testing telematic logistics systems and appropriate delivery vehicles.

Lyon's involvement in the European project CITYLOG

Grand Lyon intends to take up the challenge of sustainable mobility at the heart of an attractive and economical strong city. Since April 2012, the partners in the CityLog project have been testing on the territory of Lyon a new delivery concept: the "Combi Fret", the aim of which is to restrict access to city centres for the most polluting vehicles. The innovation lies in the use of mobile modules of goods. This concept, tested by the carrier TNT, already reveals numerous benefits, in particular that of reducing the number of vehicles on the roads and the number of kilometres travelled.
